Job summary

LGH Hotels Management is seeking a reliable Kitchen Porter to join our kitchen team. You will wash dishes, keep areas clean, assist with prep, manage deliveries and support set-up/close-down procedures in a fast-paced kitchen.

You will follow food safety and hygiene guidelines while supporting chefs and the team to ensure smooth service and a positive dining experience for guests. LGH Hotels Management offers employee discounts across its Best Western portfolio.

Qualifications

• Clean and operate kitchen areas to hygiene standards.
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling and chopping vegetables.
• Receive, check and store deliveries of food and kitchen supplies correctly.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene and health & safety guidelines at all times.
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to support smooth service.

Responsibilities

• Wash and clean dishes, pots, pans and kitchen equipment thoroughly and efficiently.
• Keep all kitchen areas clean, tidy and organised throughout the shift.
• Sweep and mop floors and manage waste and recycling responsibly.
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling and chopping vegetables.
• Receive, check and store deliveries of food and kitchen supplies correctly.
• Support kitchen set-up and close-down procedures.
• Clean cooking equipment and work surfaces to hygiene standards.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene and health & safety guidelines at all times.
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to support smooth service.
• Report any maintenance, hygiene or health & safety concerns promptly.
• Is reliable, hardworking and takes pride in doing a job well.
• Enjoys practical, hands-on work in a fast-paced environment.
