Job summary

Thomas Franks Ltd. is seeking a Kitchen Porter for our Edgbaston site in Birmingham. The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 15:00, with overtime available.

You will help keep the kitchen clean and safe and assist Chefs with basic food preparation. Experience in pot washing is helpful but not essential. The successful candidate will be a team player who can communicate well in English and contribute to a high standard of cleanliness across the kitchen and

Responsibilities

• Keep the kitchen hygienic, safe and at high cleanliness standards.
• Assist chefs with food preparation as needed.
• Operate the industrial dishwasher and maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment.
• Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment and heavy catering gear.
• Support general kitchen duties and assist with stock as required.

Contract: Full Time , Permanent
Salary: £12.71
Hours: 40 per week

An independent day school for boys located in Edgbaston, Birmingham. Catering for around 1250 students and teachers daily. We offer a core feeding of Breakfast, Lunch, Match teas and lots of hospitality. This location benefits from free parking on site.

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Kitchen Porter,to join our established & friendly team at our prestigious location in Edgbaston.

Please note this role is Monday to Friday 07.00 - 15.00

Overtime Available

You’ll be playing a big part in keeping the kitchen hygienic, safe, and up to our very high standards of cleanliness.

• Experience of pot wash duties would be an advantage
• Great team player
• Be able to help the Chefs with some food prep
• Ensure high standards of cleanliness at all times
• Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment
• Clean allocated pieces of heavy catering equipment using instructions and cleaning materials including air filter and extraction systems.
• Operate industrial dishwasher

We are looking for:

• Kitchen Porter experience is preferred, but not essential.
• Organisation Skills.
• Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good understanding and use of verbal English.
• Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good standard of written English and reading skills.
• Similar experience of customer and / or food preparation environment is preferred
