Job summary

Thomas Franks Ltd is seeking a Kitchen Porter for a full-time, permanent position at our Edgbaston location in Birmingham. Typical hours are 40 per week from 07:00 to 15:00, Monday to Friday, with overtime available.

Responsibilities include pot wash, assisting chefs, and maintaining top hygiene standards in a busy school catering kitchen. Experience as a kitchen porter is preferred but not essential; strong English skills and reliability are important.

• Good organisation skills and reliability.
• Ability to understand and use basic English (spoken).
• Experience in a food prep environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with pot wash duties.
• Support chefs with food preparation.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen.
• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and heavy catering gear.
• Operate industrial dishwasher as required.

Contract: Full Time , Permanent
Salary: £12.71
Hours: 40 per week

An independent day school for boys located in Edgbaston, Birmingham. Catering for around 1250 students and teachers daily. We offer a core feeding of Breakfast, Lunch, Match teas and lots of hospitality. This location benefits from free parking on site.

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Kitchen Porter,to join our established & friendly team at our prestigious location in Edgbaston.

Please note this role is Monday to Friday 07.00 - 15.00

Overtime Available

You'll be playing a big part in keeping the kitchen hygienic, safe, and up to our very high standards of cleanliness.

• Experience of pot wash duties would be an advantage
• Great team player
• Be able to help the Chefs with some food prep
• Ensure high standards of cleanliness at all times
• Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment
• Clean allocated pieces of heavy catering equipment using instructions and cleaning materials including air filter and extraction systems.
• Operate industrial dishwasher

We are looking for:

• Kitchen Porter experience is preferred, but not essential.
• Organisation Skills.
• Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good understanding and use of verbal English.
• Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good standard of written English and reading skills.
• Similar experience of customer and / or food preparation environment is preferred
