Thomas Franks Ltd. seeks a Kitchen Porter at our Somerset site in Street to support a busy school kitchen with high cleanliness standards and some food prep assistance.

Qualifications

• Experience of pot wash duties would be an advantage.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Great team player.
• Be able to help the Chefs with some food prep.
• Ensure high standards of cleanliness at all times.
• Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment.
• Operate industrial dishwasher.
• Kitchen Porter experience is preferred, but not essential.
• Can do attitude.
• Organisation Skills.
• Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good understanding and use of verbal English.
• Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good standard of written English and reading skills.
• Similar experience of customer and / or food preparation environment is preferred

Responsibilities

• You'll be playing a big part in keeping the kitchen hygienic, safe, and up to our very high standards of cleanliness.
• Assist Chefs with some food prep and support the kitchen team.
• Operate the industrial dishwasher and maintain clean equipment.

Kitchen Porter Somerset Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: £26,436.80
Hours: 40 per week

An independent co-educational day and boarding school for pupils aged 2 to 18 in Street, Somerset. Catering for around 1,300 students daily, Millfield offers a broad educational experience with extensive academic, sporting and co-curricular programmes. We provide a core feeding offer of breakfast, lunch and supper, along with vibrant hospitality provision. A key benefit to this location is the extensive campus setting and outstanding facilities in the heart of the Somerset countryside.

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Kitchen Porter to join our established & friendly team at our prestigious location in Somerset.

You'll be playing a big part in keeping the kitchen hygienic, safe, and up to our very high standards of cleanliness.

Key skills:

• Experience of pot wash duties would be an advantage
• Excellent customer service skills
• Great team player
• Be able to help the Chefs with some food prep
• Ensure high standards of cleanliness at all times
• Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment
• Clean allocated pieces of heavy catering equipment using instructions and cleaning materials including air filter and extraction systems.

We are looking for:

Knowledge / competencies:

• Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good understanding and use of verbal English.
• Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good standard of written English and reading skills.
