Job summary

The King Rufus in Chandlers Ford is seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager to lead the kitchen, ensuring exceptional food and running a commercially successful operation in a busy pub environment.

You will manage stock and costs, develop your team, and work closely with the General Manager and front‑of‑house to deliver a brilliant guest experience. Greene King supports career progression and staff wellbeing.

Qualifications

• At least two years’ experience as Kitchen Manager or equivalent leadership role.
• Experience leading a busy kitchen and building a strong team.
• Strong work ethic with hands-on leadership approach.
• Experience managing a varied menu with quality and consistency.

Responsibilities

• Lead from the front and set a high kitchen standard.
• Maintain quality, presentation and portion control across the menu.
• Coach and develop the kitchen team to build skills.
• Own stock, ordering, waste, labour and food costs with reporting.
• Organise rotas, prep and service for busy periods across indoor/outdoor dining.
• Ensure food safety, allergen management and kitchen compliance.
• Collaborate with the General Manager and front-of-house to drive guest experience and food sales.
