A Japanese restaurant is recruiting a Kitchen Manager / Assistant Kitchen Manager responsible for daily kitchen operations and staff management. The ideal candidate should have industry experience and a good understanding of Japanese cuisine. Japanese language skills are a plus but not essential.

Primary Job Functions

1. Teamwork

• Manage and support all facets of kitchen operations

Time Management

• Ensure timely preparation of products
• Manage schedules and overtime

Product Management

• Ensure correct portioning and presentation
• Lead preparation according to recipes, manage inventory, and workload division

Inventory Management

• Monitor quality and inventory levels
• Understand expiry dates and FIFO
• Advise on appropriate inventory levels

Human Resources Management

• Lead and direct kitchen staff
