Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a General Assistant to support kitchen operations and hospitality services at our facilities. You will assist with food preparation, maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas and equipment, and help with deliveries and stock organisation.

The role requires good time management, the ability to work under pressure, and the stamina to stand for extended periods. Flexibility for events and hosting duties is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Must have the Right to Work in the UK.
• Commercial kitchen experience is valued but not essential.
• Ideally possess a basic Catering and Hospitality certificate such as Food Handling or equivalent, but not essential as we can provide this.
• Excellent time management skills and can work under pressure.
• Excellent organisational skills are also important.
• Can stand for extended periods is often necessary due to the physical nature of the job.

Responsibilities

• Help with food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, trimming, and making sandwiches and salads
• Be responsible for maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area and equipment, including cleaning utensils, tableware and catering stations
• Assist with receiving and unpacking all deliveries, ensuring that the food and supply storage areas are organised
• Serve food items to customers in accordance with the menu prepared by the Chefs; may act as host/waiter at events when needed
