Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a General Assistant to join our facilities management team in the UK. You will work 7am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday, assisting in food preparation, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, receiving deliveries, and serving customers according to the chefs' menu. You may also host or wait on events.

No formal experience required, though commercial kitchen exposure is valued; basic catering certificates can be provided if needed. Right to work in the UK is required.

Qualifications

• Commercial kitchen experience is valued but not essential.
• A basic Catering & Hospitality certificate such as Food Handling would be desirable but not essential as training can be provided.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent organisational skills are important.
• Ability to stand for extended periods is often necessary due to the physical nature of the job.

Responsibilities

• Help with food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, trimming, and making sandwiches and salads
• Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area and equipment, including cleaning utensils, tableware, and catering stations
• Assist with receiving and unpacking deliveries; organise food and supply storage areas
• Serve food items to customers in accordance with the menu prepared by the Chefs; may host/waiter at events
• Top up vending services
