Job summary

Niyaa People Ltd is seeking an experienced Kitchen Fitter to join a well-established building and maintenance contractor delivering planned kitchen refurbishment programmes to occupied social housing properties across North Leicester, Derby and Nottingham. This is a self-employed opportunity offering regular work within social housing.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Kitchen Fitter or Kitchen Installer.
• Experience delivering kitchen refurbishments in occupied properties.

Responsibilities

• Carry out full kitchen strip-outs, including removing units, tiles, flooring, and fixtures.
• Install floor protection and maintain dust control throughout works in occupied homes.
• Receive and check kitchen deliveries to ensure all materials are present before installation.
• Complete full kitchen installations, including units, worktops, plinths, splashbacks, and finishing items.
• Replace skirting boards and fit new window boards where required.
• Bond and fill walls.
• Basic plumbing.
• Prepare subfloors using latex on solid floors or 6mm ply on timber floors ready for flooring contractors.
• Carry out general carpentry works across multiple sites when required.
• Work closely with other trades to ensure programmes remain on schedule.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship, housekeeping, and health and safety at all times.

This is a self-employed opportunity offering regular work with the chance to join a busy team delivering high-quality kitchen replacement programmes within the social housing sector.

The role involves working in occupied properties, carrying out full kitchen strip-outs, installations, and associated carpentry works. You'll work alongside electricians, plumbers, plasterers, decorators, and flooring contractors to ensure kitchens are completed to a high standard and handed over on time.

We welcome applications fromKitchen Fitters, Kitchen Installers, Carpenter Joiners, Joiners, Multi Skilled Carpenters, Multi Trade Operatives, Property Maintenance Operatives,andCarpenterswith experience working within social housing, planned maintenance, or domestic property refurbishment.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working as a Kitchen Fitter or Kitchen Installer
• Proven experience completing kitchen refurbishments and installations
• Competent carrying out kitchen rip-outs and installations within occupied properties
• Experience preparing subfloors for flooring contractors
• Strong attention to detail and ability to complete work to a high standard
• Flexible to undertake general carpentry works across different sites when required
• Based within, or able to travel acrossNorth Leicester, Derby and Nottingham.
