Job summary

Fortus Recruitment is seeking an experienced Kitchen Fitter for ongoing social housing refurbishment projects on a self-employed basis. You will strip out, fit, and complete kitchens across multiple properties, aiming at around two kitchens per week.

Start date 1st September with a minimum of five weeks' work and the potential for ongoing assignments; van/fuel card may be provided after review and mileage is government-supported. Applicants must have own tools and transport.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Kitchen Fitter.
• Strong carpentry skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Social housing, voids or refurbishment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Strip out existing kitchens and complete carpentry aspects of installations.
• Fit kitchen units, doors, worktops and associated components.
• Complete tiling where required and ensure a high standard of finish.
• Work independently across multiple properties and maintain productivity (approx. two kitchens per week).

The work is due to start from 1st September, with a minimum of five weeks' work available and the potential for ongoing work. The aim will be to complete around two kitchens per week.

Duties

• Strip out existing kitchens
• Isolate plumbing where required
• Fit kitchen units, doors, worktops and associated components
• Complete all carpentry aspects of kitchen installations
• Complete tiling where required
• Work to set specifications and maintain a high standard of finish
• Complete around two kitchens per week
• Work independently across multiple properties

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Kitchen Fitter
• Strong carpentry skills
• Own tools required
• Own transport essential to start
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Social housing, voids or refurbishment experience preferred
• Asbestos Awareness required - internal training can be provided if needed

Details

• Start date: 1st September
• Minimum 5 weeks' work
• Up to £190 per day
• Self-employed basis
• Rate can be reviewed depending on performance
• Government minimum mileage contribution
• Van and fuel card may be provided following a performance review
