Niyaa People Ltd. is seeking an experienced Kitchen Fitter to join a well-established contractor delivering a planned kitchen refurbishment programme on void social housing properties across Daventry.

This temporary role offers regular work within a busy team, focusing on high-quality kitchen replacements in social housing. The role involves working in occupied properties, performing full strip-outs and installations, and coordinating with electricians, plumbers and other trades to ensure

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Kitchen Fitter or Kitchen Installer.
  • Experience refurbishing and installing kitchens in occupied properties.
  • Full UK driving licence; willing to travel Northampton/Milton Keynes.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out full kitchen strip-outs, including removing units, tiles, flooring and fixtures.
  • Install floor protection and maintain dust control in empty homes.
  • Receive and check deliveries to ensure materials are present before installation.
  • Complete full kitchen installations including units, worktops, plinths and splashbacks.
  • Replace skirting boards and fit new window boards where required.
  • Prepare subfloors for flooring contractors with latex or ply.
  • Carry out general carpentry works and day-to-day repairs across sites.
  • Work with other trades to keep programmes on schedule.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship, housekeeping and safety.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for an experiencedKitchen Fitterto join a well-established building and maintenance contractor delivering planned kitchen refurbishment programme on void social housing properties across Daventry.

This is a temporary opportunity offering regular work with the chance to join a busy team delivering high-quality kitchen replacement programmes within the social housing sector.

The role involves working in occupied properties, carrying out full kitchen strip-outs, installations, and associated carpentry works. You'll work alongside electricians, plumbers, plasterers, decorators, and flooring contractors to ensure kitchens are completed to a high standard and handed over on time.

We welcome applications fromKitchen Fitters, Kitchen Installers, Carpenter Joiners, Joiners, Multi Skilled Carpenters, Multi Trade Operatives, Property Maintenance Operatives,andCarpenterswith experience working within social housing, planned maintenance, or domestic property refurbishment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out full kitchen strip-outs, including removing units, tiles, flooring, and associated fixtures
  • Install floor protection and maintain excellent dust control throughout works in empty homes
  • Receive and check kitchen deliveries to ensure all materials are present before installation
  • Complete full kitchen installations, including units, worktops, plinths, splashbacks, and finishing items
  • Replace skirting boards and fit new window boards where required
  • Prepare subfloors using latex on solid floors or 6mm ply on timber floors ready for flooring contractors
  • Carry out general carpentry works, including doors, skirting, and day-to-day repairs across multiple sites when required
  • Work closely with other trades to ensure programmes remain on schedule
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship, housekeeping, and health and safety at all times
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working as a Kitchen Fitter or Kitchen Installer
  • Proven experience completing kitchen refurbishments and installations
  • Competent carrying out kitchen rip-outs and installations within occupied properties
  • Experience preparing subfloors for flooring contractors
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to complete work to a high standard
  • Flexible to undertake general carpentry works across different sites when required
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Based within, or able to travel across, Northampton and Milton Keynes
  • Health & safety conscious with the ability to complete relevant compliance requirements, including manual handling, asbestos awareness, and face-fit/RPE requirements where applicable
