Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a dedicated General Assistant to join our kitchen and catering support team in the UK. You will assist with food preparation, maintain cleanliness, receive deliveries, serve customers, and support at events.

No formal kitchen experience is required, as training will be provided. A basic Catering & Hospitality certificate is desirable, and strong time management and organisational skills are essential. You must be able to stand for extended periods.

Qualifications

Excellent time management skills and can work under pressure.
Excellent organisational skills are also important.
Must have the Right to Work in the UK.
A food hygiene course at Level 2 would be desirable but training can be provided.

Responsibilities

Help with food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, trimming, and making sandwiches and salads.
Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area and equipment, including utensils, tableware and catering stations.
Assist with receiving and unpacking deliveries, ensuring food and supply storage areas are organised.
Serve food items to customers per the menu prepared by the Chefs; may host/waiter at events.
Top up vending services.
