Suffolk Lodge is a residential home run by Optalis that supports residents living with dementia. We are seeking a Kitchen Assistant to help the Chef prepare nutritious meals and maintain high kitchen standards.

This 44-hour cover role runs 7am to 7pm across four days a week on a two-week rota with alternate weekend shifts. A City and Guilds Level 1 in Hospitality and Catering and Food Safety Level 2, or willingness to gain them, plus an enhanced DBS check, are required.

Responsibilities

• Support the Chef to prepare nutritious meals for the people supported
• Help maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety in the kitchen
• Assist with basic food preparation
• Clean kitchen equipment and dining areas
• Wash dishes, cutlery and cooking utensils
• Store food deliveries safely and correctly
• Follow all health and safety regulations
• Interact warmly and respectfully with the people supported
• Cover shifts from 7am to 7pm, four days a week, on a two-week rota including alternate weekends

Kitchen Assistant at Suffolk Lodge, a residential home for older people living with dementia, run by Optalis, the adult social care delivery partner of two councils. The post supports the Chef in preparing nutritious meals and keeping the kitchen clean and safe.
