Kitchen Assistant

Clarence Recruitment is currently recruiting on behalf of a friendly and welcoming school in Leicestershire for a dedicated and reliable DBS qualified Kitchen Assistant to join their catering team.

About the Role

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operation of the school kitchen. You'll help ensure that pupils and staff receive nutritious meals in a clean, safe, and well-organised environment. The ideal candidate will work during term-time and 3-4 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and serving of meals.
• Support the catering team with general kitchen duties.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen and dining areas.
• Wash utensils, crockery, and kitchen equipment.
• Assist with stock management and the receipt of deliveries.
• Follow food hygiene, health and safety, and safeguarding procedures at all times.
• Provide a friendly and professional service to both pupils and staff.

About You

• Reliable, hardworking, and able to work independently when required.
• A strong team player with excellent communication skills.
• Experienced in a kitchen, catering, hospitality, or similar environment.
• Knowledgeable about food hygiene and health and safety standards.
• Comfortable working in a busy environment and maintaining high standards.

Desirable Requirements

• Previous experience working within a school or educational setting.
• An Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, or a willingness to obtain one.
