Job summary

Avante Care & Support's Northbourne Court in Sidcup is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to help prepare fresh ingredients, assist the Cook/Head Chef, and serve meals with a warm, resident-focused approach.

You'll keep kitchens hygienic, follow food safety standards, and contribute to menu planning with residents, delivering meals that support dignity and wellbeing in a home-like atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Environmental Health Certificate in Food Hygiene is essential.
• Experience in a similar role and City & Guilds qualification desirable.
• Team player with a positive, flexible attitude.

Responsibilities

• Prep fresh ingredients – fruits, vegetables, and more.
• Assist with meal preparation and support our Cook/Head Chef.
• Serve meals and ensure mealtimes are enjoyable for residents.
• Keep kitchen and dining areas clean, safe, and hygienic.
• Follow food hygiene, safety, and nutritional standards every day.
• Help plan menus with input from residents.
• Ensure high standards of care in line with Eden Alternative Philosophy.
