Job summary

Orders of St. John Care Trust is recruiting a Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly catering team, preparing meals, snacks and drinks for residents while learning their preferences so mealtimes are a highlight of their day.

You'll work alongside a compassionate team at Avonbourne Care Centre, located in Old Sarum near Salisbury. We offer training, a supportive environment and benefits as part of an established not-for-profit provider.

Qualifications

• No formal catering experience required; full training provided.
• A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare delicious meals, snacks and drinks for residents.
• Maintain kitchen hygiene and safety standards.
• Collaborate with the catering team to deliver quality service.
• Engage with residents to understand preferences and needs.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're currently recruiting for a Kitchen Assistant to join our passionate, hard-working and friendly catering team, to create delicious meals, snacks and drinks for our residents. You'll get to know our residents, understand their likes and dislikes so that mealtimes are always a highlight of their day

Located in the historic Old Sarum, just north of Salisbury, Avon Court and Bourne House make up Avonbourne Care Centre . Each offers an elegant environment with compassionate, individualised care in welcoming, relaxing, and homely households

The Avonbourne team provides tailored support for residents dependent on their own requirements, from a little extra help with some day to day tasks on our residential households, through to more specialist support with nursing and dementia needs

ABOUT YOU

You don't need to have previous formal catering experience, as we'll give you the training you need, although it would be helpful if you hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate. What we're looking for is someone who is keen on cooking and takes pride in kitchen hygiene standards. You'll have a positive can-do approach, with good communication skills and you'll be passionate about ensuring our residents receive the best service possible
