Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group in Sidcup is seeking a warm Kitchen Assistant on a Bank basis to support the catering team at Frognal House Care Home. You will assist with food preparation, maintain hygiene standards and help ensure meals meet residents’ needs with care and compassion.

The role requires a Basic Food Hygiene certificate, knowledge of health and safety, and a positive, flexible approach to team work. DBS disclosure will be provided by Avery, and eligibility to work in the UK must be

Qualifications

• Hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Demonstrates knowledge of Health and Safety, Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.

Responsibilities

• Support the catering function in food preparation and maintain a clean kitchen environment.
• Respond promptly to reasonable work instructions from the kitchen team.
• Advise on supply and quality of items used, and help with ordering replacement goods.
• Treat residents and visitors with dignity and respect.
