Job summary

Glenholme Senior Living invites applications for a Bank Kitchen Assistant at Wendreth Court, March. You will work with the Head Chef to prepare fresh, wholesome meals for residents, staff, and visitors on a flexible, as-needed basis.

The role suits someone who enjoys working in a care environment and can cover shifts to meet service needs. DBS check is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen environment desirable.
• Knowledge of COSHH, HACCP, Environmental Health Standards and Regulations, Safer Food Better Business.
• Understanding of food allergies and dietary requirements.
• Excellent timekeeping skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work flexibly as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef with food preparation and service.
• Assist with preparing healthy, balanced, and nutritious meals in a home-cooked style.
• Ensure food is prepared, cooked, and stored hygienically at all times.
• Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation.
• Support portion control and waste minimisation.
• Ensure kitchen practices comply with legislation, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of food safety, COSHH, HACCP, and allergen management.
• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and work areas to a high standard.
• Support a positive dining experience reflecting Glenholme Senior Living's values.

Pay Rate: £13 per hour*

Contract Type: Bank – flexible hours, as and when required

As a Bank Kitchen Assistant, you will work alongside the Head Chef and wider kitchen team to support the preparation and delivery of fresh, wholesome meals for residents, staff, and visitors.

This is a flexible role, ideal for someone who enjoys working in a care environment and can provide cover as required.

• Previous experience working in a kitchen environment is desirable

This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting the Head Chef with food preparation and service
