Responsibilities

• Support chefs in planning and providing high-quality meals meeting nutritional needs.
• Plan, prepare and serve balanced meals with dietary requirements in mind.
• Ensure all food meets hygiene standards and safe working practices are followed.
• Manage stocks and stores with proper labeling and stock rotation.
• Maintain fridge temperature records to satisfy food hygiene requirements.

As our kitchen assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our care home kitchen. What you’ll be doing

• Supporting the chefs in the planning and provision of high-quality meals that meet the nutritional and dietary requirements of our residents.
• Plan, prepare, and serve balanced meals that meet dietary requirements.
• Ensure all food prepared meets food hygiene standards and that safe methods of work are always used.
• Manage all stocks and stores, ensuring all food is correctly marked and stock rotation systems are in place.
• Maintain accurate records to satisfy food hygiene requirements such as fridge temperature checks.

About You

• Proven experience working in a similar catering role, ideally in a care or similar environment.
• Committed to customer care and first-class service provision.
• Knowledge of health and safety COSHH regulations.
• Empathy and a desire to make a difference to the lives of our residents.
• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and on your own initiative in a fast-paced environment.
• To share our values and demonstrate them at all times.
