Job summary

Naim Audio Ltd in Salisbury is seeking a part-time Kitchen Assistant/Assistant Chef for a day-time role, 9:30am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday, in our onsite restaurant. You will perform salad prep, washing up, and baking as required, working with the Catering Manager and ensuring high standards of service.

You will support with stock delivery, allergen awareness, cleanliness and compliance, while enjoying staff meals, free parking and a friendly team.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering/hospitality environment.
• Excellent communication and customer care skills.
• Awareness of legislation; Food Hygiene, Health & Safety, Allergen awareness.
• Up to date Food Hygiene Certificate or willingness to undertake training.
• Good teamwork skills.
• Basic IT skills.
• Self-motivated and enthusiastic with the ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Salad preparation for the lunch shifts and washing up as required.
• Uphold policies and laws related to Food Hygiene, Health & Safety, Financial Regulations, Equal Opportunities and Data Protection.
• Undertake cleaning and ensure equipment and production areas meet guidelines.
• Assist the Catering Manager in stocking the on-site canteen and coordinating stock deliveries.
• Promote good customer and staff relations; report issues to the Catering Manager.
• Respond to complaints and use feedback to improve service.
• Oversee the canteen in the manager's absence and train temporary staff.
• Keep up with trends and seasonal ingredients, using fresh produce.
• Follow allergen-aware recipes.

Are you a Kitchen Porter or Assistant Chef looking to take a break from conventional late hours and weekend working?

At Naim Audio, we are looking for a talented and creative individual to join our team on a part time basis, working day shifts, Monday to Friday, with working hours envisaged in the region of 9:30am to 2:30pm.

You will be working in our onsite restaurant with our Catering Manager, undertaking tasks such as salad preparation, washing up, and baking where required.

We are proud to offer our staff and visitors complimentary Breakfast, Lunch & Afternoon tea in our stylish restaurant. Our food consists of homemade products, including a deli counter where you will find fresh seasonal items such as pesto, houmous, tapenades, cured meats, and a selection of cheeses, alongside varied hot food options.

High standards of presentation, cleanliness and a great attitude are key to this role as this is a customer facing job.

Key Responsibilities

• Salad preparation for the various lunch shifts, washing up in accordance with the company break time requirements and schedules, and baking as appropriate.
• To uphold and comply with the organisation’s Policies and the Law in relation to Food Hygiene, Health & Safety, Financial Regulations, Equal Opportunities, Data Protection and other Policies and Procedures required for the smooth and effective operation of the business.
• To undertake cleaning and ensure all aspects of equipment and production area meet FSA guidelines.
• Assist the Catering Manager in ensuring the on-site canteen is suitably stocked, supporting with the delivery of stock as required, and that all dietary requirements of the staff are considered.
• Promote good customer and staff relations.
• To report any concerns or issues to the Catering Manager immediately for action e.g. broken equipment.
• To respond to complaints and compliments; listen to feedback from visitors or staff and ensure that it is used positively to influence and develop the organisation and its activities.
• Oversee the canteen in the Catering Managers absence by leading the kitchen and training Temp staff where required.
• Keep up with trends and seasonal ingredients, using fresh produce.
• Follow recipes in line with allergen awareness.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Previous kitchen experience in a catering or hospitality environment.
• Excellent communication and customer care skills, with a customer centred approach to service delivery.
• Awareness of relevant legislation; Food Hygiene, Health & Safety. Allergen Awareness.
• Up to date Food Hygiene Certificate or willingness to undertake training.
• Good teamwork skills.
• Basic IT skills.
• Self-motivated, committed and enthusiastic with the ability to work under pressure.
