Job summary

Labman Automation invites applications for a Kitchen Assistant at Labman HQ, Stokesley, North Yorkshire. This part-time lunchtime role (Mon-Fri, 10:00am–2:00pm) pays £13.50 per hour and supports the staff catering facility for our team.

You’ll assist with basic food prep, serve food and drinks, keep the kitchen and dining areas clean, restock supplies, and work closely with the Catering Manager to ensure a welcoming, efficient service for colleagues in a busy environment.

Qualifications

• Good attention to cleanliness, hygiene and presentation.
• Able to work effectively as part of a small team.
• Good communication skills and ability to follow procedures.
• Hands-on approach and willingness to get involved.
• Prior catering or kitchen experience is beneficial but not essential as training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic food preparation, including ingredients and plating.
• Support lunchtime service and serve food and drinks professionally.
• Keep the kitchen, serving areas and dining spaces clean and well presented.
• Assist with opening, lunchtime service and closing duties for the catering area.
• Wash up and clean equipment; ensure workspaces are organised.
• Restock food, drinks, consumables and cleaning supplies.
• Maintain stock rotation and help reduce waste.
• Follow food hygiene, allergen awareness and health & safety procedures.
• Report equipment faults, hazards or stock issues to the Catering Manager.
• Support other reasonable catering duties as required.

We are looking for a friendly and reliable Kitchen Assistant to support the day-to-day running of our staff catering facility at Labman HQ. You'll work alongside our Catering Manager to provide a clean, welcoming and efficient lunchtime service for our employees.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in maintaining high standards and isn't afraid to get stuck in.

What You'll Do:

• Assist with basic food preparation, including preparing ingredients and plating food.
• Support the lunchtime service and serve food and drinks in a friendly and professional manner.
• Keep the kitchen, serving areas and dining spaces clean, tidy and well presented.
• Support the Catering Manager with opening, lunchtime service and closing duties.
• Wash up, clean equipment and ensure workspaces are cleared and organised.
• Restock food, drinks, consumables and cleaning supplies.
• Help maintain appropriate stock rotation and reduce food and material waste.
• Follow food hygiene, allergen awareness, cleaning and health and safety procedures.
• Report any equipment faults, hazards, stock issues or other concerns to the Catering Manager.
• Support other reasonable catering duties as required.
