Job summary

Cygnet Woking is recruiting a full-time Kitchen Assistant to support meal preparation and service under the Chef Manager in a private hospital.

The ideal candidate has catering/kitchen/hospitality experience, is enthusiastic, a good communicator, and can work as part of a team while maintaining high hygiene and safety standards. 40-hour week, rota including weekends.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in catering/kitchen/hospitality settings.
  • Willingness to work on weekends and in a rota pattern.
  • Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Responsibilities

  • Follow instruction and supervisory orders from the Chef Manager
  • Clean and wash cutlery, crockery and kitchen ware
  • Ensure floors and walkways are kept clean at all times
  • Assist with other members of the catering team in the serving of meals
  • Project a polite manner to customers and other members of staff at all times
  • Maintain health and safety hygiene standards as required by the company. Ensure hygiene is implemented with due regard to the statutory laws including the food safety act
  • Understand and follow the fire drills in the event of an emergency
  • Undergo appropriate training to meet the required standards of the job and changes in policy and procedure
  • Undertake any duty within the scope of the job title as directed by management

Cygnet Woking is a private hospital offering a range of mental health services for men and women in a purpose-built therapeutic environment where the focus is on maximising positive outcomes and recovery.

We are recruiting for a full time Kitchen Assistant to assist with the preparation and delivery of meals as defined by the chef manager.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a catering/kitchen/hospitality environment and will assist the Chef in all aspects of the catering operation as required ensuring all catering areas are maintained in a hygienic, clean, and safe manner.

You will work 40 hours per week on a rota basis including weekends.

Your day-to-day

You are
  • Passionate about catering, preferably with experience within a care setting
  • Enthusiastic, keen to learn and an active team member
  • Polite & professional, with a positive attitude at all times
  • An excellent communicator who can liaise with people at all levels
  • Able to work on your own initiative & under supervision
  • Diligent & take pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness.
