Job summary

St Clare's Primary School is seeking a Catering Assistant to join a busy school kitchen. The role is 17.5 hours per week during term time, Monday to Friday from 10:30am to 2:00pm, with duties including cleaning, hygiene, and assisting with meal service for pupils and staff.

Experience in catering is desirable; training will be provided. The successful applicant will need to complete a Hygiene and Food Handling course if not already qualified.

Qualifications

• Catering experience is desirable, training would be provided for the right candidate.
• A Hygiene and Food Handling course is required unless you already hold a current qualification.

St Clare's Primary School is looking to employ a Catering Assistant to work 17.5 hours a week (term time only), as follows: Mon - Fri10.30 am - 2.00p.m. Our school has a busy kitchen and the post holder will be required to work as part of a committed team preparing fresh, home cooked food for our pupils and staff. The successful candidate will:

• undertake all aspects of cleaning equipment, floors, fixtures and fittings, cooking utensilsand cutlery as directed.
• maintain a high standard of personal and general cleanliness and hygiene to comply with statutory school regulations.
• assist with the serving of school meals when required
  Previous experience of catering is desirable, although training would be available for the right candidate. The successful applicant will be required to take and pass a Hygiene and Food Handling course, unless they already have a current up to date qualification.
