Orchard Care Homes is recruiting a Kitchen Assistant at Lansbury Court Care Home in Castletown, Sunderland, Tyne and Wear. You will help deliver nutritious meals and support residents with dignity and choice.

Working 40 hours per week, you’ll contribute to personalised menus and join a team committed to development, wellbeing, and high standards of care in a warm, supportive environment. Salary is £12.71 per hour, with DBS checked and opportunities for training and progression within Orchard

Qualifications

• Experience in cook/kitchen assistance, preferably in a care home.
• Ability to prepare meals and adapt to dietary needs.
• Commitment to resident wellbeing and dignity.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist in delivering nutritious meals to residents.
• Support personalised menu plans respecting privacy and independence.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, safety and food hygiene standards.
• Engage with residents in a kind, respectful manner during mealtimes.
• Contribute to ongoing learning and development within the team.

• You will have Cook/Kitchen Assistant experience preferably gained in a care home setting.
• Engaging with residents in a friendly and kind manner, ensuring their dietary preferences and needs are met, and creating a positive dining experience for everyone.
