Job summary

Berkeley Scott Limited seeks a reliable Kitchen Assistant to join school catering in Southampton. This temporary post offers an immediate start with regular term-time work, assisting with food preparation, serving meals to pupils, and supporting the kitchen team.

You will help maintain hygiene standards and assist with daily catering tasks in a busy school environment. DBS check and Food Safety Level 2 are required or willingness to obtain.

Qualifications

• Enhanced Child Workforce DBS required.
• 2 references required.
• Food Safety Level 2 Certificate required.
• Willingness to obtain Food Allergen Certificate.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and safe handling.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with food preparation and serving.
• Supporting the kitchen team with daily catering duties.
• Preparing ingredients and food items as required.
• Washing up and cleaning kitchen equipment and work areas.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Assisting with school meal service.
• Following food safety and health and safety procedures.
• Ensuring food is stored, prepared and handled safely.
• Working effectively as part of a wider catering team.

Berkeley Scott seeks a Kitchen Assistant for school catering in Southampton. This temporary post suits someone available for an immediate start, with regular ongoing work during term time.
