What You'll Be Doing

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play an important role in helping the school kitchen run smoothly and efficiently. Your duties may include:

• Assisting with food preparation and service
• Supporting the catering team during busy periods
• Preparing ingredients and maintaining clean, organised work areas
• Washing up and cleaning kitchen equipment
• Following food hygiene, health & safety and food allergen procedures
• Supporting with stock rotation and correct food storage
• Helping to maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen
• Providing a friendly and professional service to pupils and staff
• Working effectively as part of a busy catering team

Requirements

To be considered for the role, you will need:

• Previous kitchen, catering or hospitality experience is desirable
• Food Safety Level 2 Certificate - required, or willingness to obtain
• Food Allergen Certificate - required, or willingness to obtain
• Enhanced DBS - required
• 2 references - required
• A reliable, hardworking and positive attitude
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to work efficiently in a busy environment
• A professional approach to working within a school setting
