Job summary

PrimeLife Ltd in Scunthorpe is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to prepare meals, snacks and beverages for residents, ensuring dietary requirements are met and the kitchen is kept clean and hygienic. The role offers training support and a path to progression within a caring, supportive team.

While a Food Hygiene or Catering qualification is preferred, PrimeLife can provide the necessary training. DBS is fully funded, with holiday pay and a refer-a-friend incentive of up to £250 per successful

Qualifications

• Genuine caring nature and desire to make a real difference for residents.
• Experience as a cook is preferred, with potential training offered by PrimeLife.
• Food Hygiene or Catering qualification preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals, snacks and beverages per residents' dietary requirements.
• Undertake quality checks on food prepared and stored.
• Assist with food service to provide a dignified dining experience for residents.
• Maintain stock records in line with policy and food safety regulations.
• Order stock and maintain accurate records.
• Keep kitchen hygienic and tidy and assist with deep cleaning tasks.

This role will be based at Phoenix Park Care Village, in the heart of Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire. The Care Village has been specially designed to cater to the every need of 146 residents, across three buildings on the site. Typically our residents at Phoenix Park live with a range of age related health conditions, physical disabilities and mental health conditions that require dignified support from our caring team. Additionally, many of our residents are living with Dementia and may also require one to one personal support to maintain their daily independence. It is essential that candidates for this role are therefore patient, understanding and respectful of our resident’s individual abilities.

Responsibilities of our Kitchen Assistant include:

• Preparing meals, snacks and beverages in line with our residents’ dietary requirements

• Maintaining stock records in line with company policy and food safety regulations
• Ordering stock and maintaining accurate records
• Maintaining a hygienic and tidy kitchen and supporting with deep cleaning tasks

What we’re looking for in our Kitchen Assistant:

To be successful within this role, you will have a genuine caring nature and a desire to make a real difference for our residents. You will be an experienced Cook, ideally holding a Food Hygiene and/or Catering qualification, though this is not essential as Prime Life can support you with the training necessary for this role.
