Job summary

Prime Life at Phoenix Park Care Village in Scunthorpe is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join a caring team. You will prepare meals and beverages, handle dietary requirements, and support with service to help residents enjoy a dignified dining experience.

The role offers DBS funding, holiday pay, and learning opportunities; a friendly team supports you as you develop within care. Previous cooking experience is helpful, but Prime Life will provide training as needed.

Qualifications

• Genuine caring nature and desire to make a real difference for residents.
• Experience as a Cook is preferred; learning support for training provided by Prime Life.

Responsibilities

• Preparing meals, snacks and beverages in line with residents’ dietary requirements.
• Undertaking quality checks on food prepared and stored.
• Assisting with food service to ensure a dignified dining experience for residents.
• Maintaining stock records in line with policy and food safety regulations.
• Ordering stock and keeping Records up to date.
• Maintaining a hygienic and tidy kitchen and assisting with deep cleaning tasks.

This role will be based at Phoenix Park Care Village, in the heart of Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire. The Care Village has been specially designed to cater to the every need of 146 residents, across three buildings on the site. Typically our residents at Phoenix Park live with a range of age related health conditions, physical disabilities and mental health conditions that require dignified support from our caring team. Additionally, many of our residents are living with Dementia and may also require one to one personal support to maintain their daily independence. It is essential that candidates for this role are therefore patient, understanding and respectful of our resident’s individual abilities.

Responsibilities of our Kitchen Assistant include:

What we’re looking for in our Kitchen Assistant:

To be successful within this role, you will have a genuine caring nature and a desire to make a real difference for our residents. You will be an experienced Cook, ideally holding a Food Hygiene and/or Catering qualification, though this is not essential as Prime Life can support you with the training necessary for this role.
