Job summary

PrimeLife Ltd in Scunthorpe is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to prepare meals and support residents in a caring environment at Phoenix Park Care Village. The role involves following dietary requirements, performing quality checks, and helping with service to ensure a dignified dining experience.

You'll likely have a Food Hygiene or Catering qualification, though training will be provided if needed. The position offers DBS funding, holiday pay, and a rewarding refer-a-friend scheme up to £250.

Responsibilities

• Preparing meals, snacks and beverages in line with residents' dietary requirements.
• Undertaking quality checks on food prepared and on storage.
• Assisting with food service to provide a dignified dining experience for residents.
• Maintaining stock records following company policy and food safety regulations.
• Ordering stock and maintaining accurate records.
• Maintaining a hygienic and tidy kitchen and supporting deep cleaning tasks.

This role will be based at Phoenix Park Care Village, in the heart of Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire. The Care Village has been specially designed to cater to the every need of 146 residents, across three buildings on the site. Typically our residents at Phoenix Park live with a range of age related health conditions, physical disabilities and mental health conditions that require dignified support from our caring team. Additionally, many of our residents are living with Dementia and may also require one to one personal support to maintain their daily independence. It is essential that candidates for this role are therefore patient, understanding and respectful of our resident’s individual abilities.

What we’re looking for in our Kitchen Assistant

To be successful within this role, you will have a genuine caring nature and a desire to make a real difference for our residents. You will be an experienced Cook, ideally holding a Food Hygiene and/or Catering qualification, though this is not essential as Prime Life can support you with the training necessary for this role.
