Job summary

Excelcare is seeking a Bank Kitchen Assistant to join the Willows Care Home in Milton Keynes. You will assist the Chef in preparing nutritious meals, follow meal plans, and ensure high hygiene standards while supporting residents during mealtimes.

The role offers casual, full or part-time hours with a competitive hourly rate and benefits, including DBS support and on-site parking.

Qualifications

• Experience of cooking for large numbers.
• NVQ Level 2 OR (qualified by experience) in catering and hospitality.
• 2 years’ experience in a catering environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chef to prepare and cook nutritious, healthy meals using fresh ingredients for residents.
• Follow scheduled meal plans and accommodate dietary requirements and personal choice.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety.
• Support mealtimes to enhance dining experience in a busy care home kitchen.
• Report any kitchen equipment faults to the Chef.

We have an opportunity for a Bank Kitchen Assistant to join our Willows Care Home in Milton Keynes. About the role:

• As a Bank Kitchen Assistant, you will be required to assist the Chef to prepare and cook nutritious, healthy meals using fresh ingredients for the people living in our care home
• Work to scheduled meal plans paying attention to individual dietary requirements and personal choice
• Always maintain excellent standards of hygiene
• Work in a fast-paced environment and support at mealtimes with the dining experience
• Check kitchen equipment and report any concerns or faults to the Chef.
• Understanding of Health & Safety, particularly in respect of Basic Food Hygiene, COSHH, safe moving and Handling and working within guidelines relating to cross infection

• NVQ Level 2 OR (qualified by experience) in catering and hospitality
