Job summary

Witherslack Group is hiring a cook at Lakeside School in Liverpool to prepare and serve tasty, nutritious meals for young people, staff and visitors, while following food hygiene rules.

You’ll help plan meals with dietary requirements in mind and work in a supportive school environment that values safeguarding and wellbeing. The role is 18.75 hours a week with benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience catering in a professional setting.
• Basic food hygiene knowledge and safety awareness.
• Ability to follow health and safety rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals for pupils, staff and visitors.
• Plan varied menus considering dietary requirements and preferences.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.

You’ll be expected to follow food hygiene rules and keep health and safety in mind, but the key is to create varied menus that encourage our young people to try new food. You’ll help plan meals, taking into account any specific dietary requirements.
