Job summary

Jah-Jireh Charity Homes in Leyland is seeking a kitchen assistant to support daily meal preparation and service at the Leyland Home. You will follow cleaning schedules, assist with meals, and liaise politely with care staff and service users. Full training will be provided.

An Approved Elementary Food Hygiene certificate is desirable but not essential. You will work as part of a team, set and clear tables, wash up, and help with paperwork.

Qualifications

• Desirable: Approved Elementary Food Hygiene certificate (full training provided).
• Experience: working in similar environment; knowledge of texture modified diets; team delivery under tight deadlines; health and safety awareness.

Job description

The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

We have a need in the Leyland Home.

Working Hours: 19

Thursday: 0800-2200

Sunday: 0800-1300

Qualifications:

It is desirable but not essential for applicants to have an Approved Elementary Food Hygiene certificate. However full training and support on the duties, skills, and qualifications required for the role will be provided.

Experience:

It is desirable but not essential to have the following experience:

Previous experience of working in a similar environment

Knowledge of texture modified diets

Experience in working with service users who have additional support needs

Knowledge of health and safety and personal responsibility

Experience in working as part of a team and of delivering items to tight deadlines

Experience in working with kitchen equipment and appliances and understanding the risks involved
