Our Kitchen Assistants / Team Members are responsible for preparing our food offering to the highest quality and standards, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation in the kitchen.
What you’ll do at Pasta Evangelists
- Ensure the kitchen is set up and ready for each service with the right amount of prepared pasta sauces and other ingredients, maintaining par levels in the pre-prepared cold delivery fridge.
- Wear a full smart, clean uniform and required protective clothing at all times while on shift.
- Adhere to the Pasta Evangelists Standard, ensuring our pasta and other products meet the highest quality for customers.
- Keep the kitchen exceptionally clean and compliant with all Health and Safety / Quality regulations.
- Monitor availability and inform Team Leaders and the wider team proactively.
- Document and keep records of food information, including effective date labelling and stock rotation (FIFO).
- Maintain all par levels and record any food wastage accurately.
- Use the SOP to maximise food quality and speed of readiness.
- Manage equipment (fridges, pasta boiler, ovens, microwaves, etc.) by keeping accurate temperature records and following safe handling procedures.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained to SOP standards (e.g., kitchen management system, oven, fridges, freezers).
- Prepare and cook food to the highest standards, complying with Pasta Evangelists’ requirements as laid out in the “How to Cards.”
- Ensure all food is prepared quickly, in the correct order, and to the How to Card standard.
- Check deliveries into the store, report any issues to the Team Leader/Manager, and ensure proper receipt, storage, and storage requirements are followed.
- Operate the wash‑up area effectively and clean all used equipment thoroughly.
- Use correct signage while cleaning; dispose of rubbish following company waste management processes and local authority requirements.
- Report any equipment defects quickly to the Team Leader or Area Manager.
- Follow all close‑down kitchen procedures, ensuring the kitchen is clean and ready for the next shift.
- Conduct regular pest checks and report concerns to the Team Leader and higher management.
Who are you
- Knowledge of safe food handling, storage, and preparation techniques to prevent foodborne illnesses (preferable).
- Familiarity with basic culinary techniques such as chopping, slicing, dicing, and measuring ingredients.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment, prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
- Meticulous and detail‑oriented when it comes to food preparation, cleaning and kitchen organisation.
- Strong team player, capable of communicating effectively with colleagues and following instructions from the Team Leader and/or Area Manager.
- Willingness to adapt to changing situations, schedules and tasks in a dynamic kitchen environment.
