In your role as a Kitchen Assistant at HC-One, you'll value one thing above all: kindness. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will help prepare and serve nutritious, healthy meals loved by our residents. You will maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene. Your duties may include managing food supplies, ensuring proper fridge/freezer temperatures, training new staff on equipment use, and cleaning spills, all with resident wellbeing as a priority.
We seek candidates with some kitchen experience, or those willing to obtain an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation. Strong organizational skills, good record-keeping, and the ability to follow recipes are essential. Communication with residents and colleagues should be considerate and kind.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You should be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect, and know how to act on concerns. All staff will receive safeguarding training relevant to their role and additional related training. You must be able to seek advice and escalate concerns when necessary.
