Job summary

Heathlands Care Home in Chingford is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support high quality meal service in a clean, safe kitchen environment. You will help with food preparation, keep areas clean, and assist with deliveries and stock organisation, working closely with the Chef and team to maintain smooth kitchen operations.

This hands-on role offers a stable routine and the chance to develop kitchen experience within a supportive home.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Previous kitchen experience is beneficial but not essential.

Heathlands Care Home is a modern, purpose-built home in Chingford, offering high-quality nursing, dementia, palliative and short-term care for up to 84 residents. Set within private landscaped gardens, the home features spacious ensuite bedrooms across three floors, dedicated care teams, and a warm, homely atmosphere focused on dignity, comfort and personalised support.

• £12.71 per hour
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Kitchen Assistant, you will support the delivery of high quality meals within a clean, safe and well organised kitchen environment. This is a hands on role where your contribution helps ensure meals are prepared efficiently and to a high standard.

You will support food preparation, maintain cleanliness across the kitchen and assist with deliveries, storage and stock organisation. Working closely with the Chef and wider team, you will help ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and safely at all times.

This role offers a consistent routine and the opportunity to build or develop your experience within a supportive and well organised kitchen environment.
