Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is seeking a warm Kitchen Assistant for Seagrave House Care Home in Corby to support the catering function and maintain a clean environment for safe meal production.

You will work with a caring team, follow hygiene and safety standards, and contribute to delivering high-quality services to residents. DBS check and UK work eligibility are required.

Qualifications

  • Holds Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and demonstrates high standards of personal hygiene.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling, Fire Safety and COSHH.
  • Efficient worker with the ability to sustain high physical effort and handle a demanding workload.
  • Demonstrate initiative and flexibility in team working.
  • Careful and understanding attitude toward residents.

Responsibilities

  • Support catering in food preparation and maintain a clean kitchen for safe meal production.
  • Follow safe food handling to ensure the highest hygiene standards.
  • Contribute to the team, respond to colleagues, and action instructions promptly.
  • Advise on supply and quality of items and ensure timely ordering of replacements.
  • Respect residents and their visitors, upholding dignity.

We’re now looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and dedicated individual to join our award-winning team as a Kitchen Assistant at Seagrave House Care Home in Corby.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as Kitchen Assistant is tosupportthe catering function in food preparation and maintaining a clean environment for the safe production of beverages and meals, ensuring a high quality and comprehensive service is delivered to residents.

  • Understandingthe principles of safe food handling, to ensure all food preparations undertaken in the kitchen is to the highest standards of hygiene.
  • Contributingfully to team working, responding positively tocolleagues,and actioning all reasonable work instructions promptly.
  • Advisingon the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks, ensuring thetimelyandappropriate orderingof replacement goods.
  • Actingaccordingly towards residents and their visitors, respecting the dignity and individuality of each resident.
