Job summary

Avery Healthcare is hiring a Kitchen Assistant at Seagrave House Care Home in Corby. You will assist with food preparation and keeping the kitchen clean to ensure safe meals and beverages for residents.

The role requires caring values and the ability to work effectively in a team. The ideal candidate will hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, have knowledge of health and safety, and be able to manage a demanding workload with a caring attitude towards residents.

Qualifications

• Hold Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and demonstrates high standards of personal hygiene.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety, including Moving and Handling, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.

Responsibilities

• Support catering in food preparation and maintain a clean environment for safe production of meals.
• Follow high standards of hygiene and contribute to a collaborative kitchen team.
• Advise on supply and quality of items, ensuring timely ordering of replacements.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as Kitchen Assistant is tosupport the catering function in food preparation and maintaining a clean environment for the safe production of beverages and meals, ensuring a high quality and comprehensive service is delivered to residents .

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

• Understandingthe principles of safe food handling, to ensure all food preparations undertaken in the kitchen is to the highest standards of hygiene.
• Contributingfully to team working, responding positively tocolleagues,and actioning all reasonable work instructions promptly.
• Advisingon the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks, ensuring thetimelyandappropriate orderingof replacement goods.
• Actingaccordingly towards residents and their visitors, respecting the dignity and individuality of each resident.
