Job summary

Struan Lodge Care Home in the Balgreen area of Edinburgh is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support high quality meals in a clean, well organised kitchen. This hands-on role works closely with the Chef to ensure meals are prepared efficiently and to a high standard, with a consistent daily routine.

The role offers 18 hours per week, with a pay rate of £12.71 per hour, PVG, pension, and uniform provided, plus 5.6 weeks annual leave based on a full-time contract.

Job description

Struan Lodge Care Home is a purpose built 30 bed care home in the Balgreen area of Edinburgh, providing Nursing, Dementia and Palliative care. The home offers a quiet, homely setting with a close knit team, allowing staff to build meaningful relationships and deliver individualised, person centred care every day.

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 18 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview As Kitchen Assistant, you will support the delivery of high quality meals within a clean, safe and well organised kitchen environment. This is a hands on role where your contribution helps ensure meals are prepared efficiently and to a high standard. You will support food preparation, maintain cleanliness across the kitchen and assist with deliveries, storage and stock organisation. Working closely with the Chef and wider team, you will help ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and safely at all times. This role offers a consistent routine and the opportunity to build or develop your experience within a supportive and well organised kitchen environment.
