Job summary

Struan Lodge Care Home in Edinburgh is seeking a Chef to deliver high quality, nutritious meals for residents in Nursing, Dementia and Palliative care. You will own food preparation and service, tailoring meals to dietary needs while maintaining presentation, hygiene and safety.

Job description

Struan Lodge Care Home is a purpose built 30 bed care home in the Balgreen area of Edinburgh, providing Nursing, Dementia and Palliative care. The home offers a quiet, homely setting with a close knit team, allowing staff to build meaningful relationships and deliver individualised, person centred care every day.

Chef Contract
  • £14.60 per hour
  • Contracted to 33 hours per week
  • Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

No late evenings or split shifts, offering a consistent working pattern and genuine work life balance, alongside ongoing training and development opportunities.

Role Overview

As a Chef, you will deliver high quality, nutritious and enjoyable meals that are a key part of daily life. This is a role where your cooking has real impact, bringing comfort, routine and enjoyment while supporting overall wellbeing.

You will take ownership of food preparation and service, ensuring meals are tailored to individual dietary needs, preferences and nutritional requirements. Maintaining high standards of presentation, hygiene and food safety, you will consistently deliver meals that residents look forward to each day.
