Kitchen Assistant

Permanent

Grade 1 - £23,656 - £24,027 pro rata

We are a Living Wage Employer, and all our roles will be paid as such where the pay scales are below the Living Wage rate.

Consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review

Working 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm

Location: Elms Farm Community Primary School, B33 0PJ

Cityserve is the Birmingham City Council's multi-award-winning catering service for school meals, providing fresh and nutritious food for schools across the UK. The Role

As a General Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals for pupils
  • Assist with all aspects of the service
  • Help keep the kitchen clean and tidy, including washing up, sweeping, and mopping
  • Assist with setting up the dining room and arranging furniture
  • Attend training sessions, both classroom-based and online
  • Be aware of pupils' needs, including dietary and allergen requirements

You will work collaboratively with managers and supervisors to ensure the first-class delivery of food in school kitchens, both during and outside of performance times.
