Job summary

Glebe House Care Home is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to help deliver high quality meals in a clean, safe kitchen. You will support food preparation, stock organisation and kitchen cleanliness, working closely with the Chef and team to ensure efficient operations.

This role offers a consistent routine and a supportive, well organised kitchen environment, with paid PVG, pension, and uniform provided.

Qualifications

• Positive and reliable approach.
• Good organisation and attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Previous kitchen experience is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

Job description

Glebe House Care Home is a privately owned residence nestled in the beautiful and tranquil surroundings of East Ayrshire. We provide personalised Nursing and Residential care for up to 46 residents, offering a warm, supportive environment where comfort, dignity, and wellbeing are at the heart of everything we do.

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 30 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Kitchen Assistant, you will support the delivery of high quality meals within a clean, safe and well organised kitchen environment. This is a hands on role where your contribution helps ensure meals are prepared efficiently and to a high standard.

You will support food preparation, maintain cleanliness across the kitchen and assist with deliveries, storage and stock organisation. Working closely with the Chef and wider team, you will help ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and safely at all times.

This role offers a consistent routine and the opportunity to build or develop your experience within a supportive and well organised kitchen environment.
