Job summary

Morrisons in Wakefield is seeking a Warehouse & FLT Key Operative to support daily operations, including receiving, storing, picking and loading goods for despatch while adhering to food safety and health and safety policies.

You’ll work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment and require some physical fitness to handle varying temperatures, noise and dust. Prior warehouse experience is desirable but not essential, with training provided.

Qualifications

• Team-oriented applicant who thrives in a fast-paced warehouse.
• Physically capable with good fitness for shifting and manual tasks.
• Able to follow safety guidelines and work within temperature/noise conditions.

Responsibilities

• Receive and store incoming goods and replenish stock.
• Pick, pack and despatch orders to meet targets.
• Operate a forklift truck (FLT) and handle goods safely.

More about the role

As a Warehouse & FLT Key Operative you'll be absolutely critical to the operation! You'll be supported and trained up to do a variety of warehouse tasks, such as bringing products in, picking stock, replenishing and putting away goods, driving a forklift truck and loading stock for despatch.

You'll work safely and carefully, with food and health and safety policies in mind every day, so that our products are looked after and arrive in the best condition at the store ready for our customers.

Please note that:

• All rotas include an element of weekend working
• Having your own transport would be advantageous due to shift times and location of site

You'll be the kind of person who:

• Loves working as part of a team and enjoys working in a fast paced environment
• Is happy in an active role and has a good level of fitness
• Is able to work in an environment with varying temperatures, and which may be noisy or dusty
• Takes pride in completing tasks to the best of your ability
• Has previous experience of working in a fast-paced warehouse environment and understands relevant processes, systems and equipment (desirable)
