Qualifications

• QT S or pending QTS as essential eligibility.
• Experience with KS1 phonics, early reading and maths.
• Ability to create inclusive, engaging lessons.
• Strong assessment and classroom practice understanding.
• Good communication and reliability in varied settings.
• DBS Update Service or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and age-appropriate lessons across KS1.
• Support pupils’ development in phonics, reading, writing and maths.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
• Manage behaviour calmly and consistently.
• Assess pupil progress and adapt teaching to needs.

Salary: £140-233 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
Start date: September 2026

Person Specification

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or pending QTS
• Recent teaching experience, placements or strong subject knowledge within Key Stage 1
• A good understanding of the KS1 curriculum, particularly phonics, early reading, writing and mathematics
• Knowledge of effective assessment and classroom practice
• A calm, positive approach to behaviour management
• The ability to create engaging, inclusive learning environments
• Excellent communication skills, reliability and a flexible approach to working across different school settings
• A current DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for a new one through Connex Education
