Job description

Key Stage 1 Class Teacher

Location: Lambeth, South London

Salary: £38,766 - £47,069 per annum based on experience

Contract: Full-time/Permanent

Start date: 21/04/2025

What you will need to succeed
  1. QTS (or equivalent) and an undergraduate degree
  2. Successful primary teaching experience in teaching KS1
  3. The right to work in the UK
  4. You must hold a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a DBS through Hays
  5. If an ECT, experience working in a primary school as a Teaching Assistant prior to teacher training
Skills and knowledge:
  1. Knowledge of the National Curriculum
  2. Knowledge of effective teaching and learning strategies
  3. A good understanding of how children learn
  4. Ability to adapt teaching to meet pupils’ needs
  5. Ability to build effective working relationships with pupils
  6. Knowledge of guidance and requirements around safeguarding children
  7. Knowledge of effective behaviour management strategies
  8. Good ICT skills, particularly using ICT to support learning
  9. A commitment to delivering diverse and inclusive teaching and actively anti-discriminatory practice
Personal qualities:
  1. A commitment to getting the best outcomes for all pupils and promoting the ethos and values of the school
  2. High expectations for children’s attainment and progress
  3. Ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively
