Job summary

Ben Sherman Head Office in Leeds is seeking a proactive Key Account Manager to develop and increase sales for the Off Price business, targeting UK and overseas customers. You will work to exceed budget targets, identify product opportunities with Product & Design, and manage stock to maximise opportunities.

You will negotiate with customers on prices and terms, coordinate showroom preparations, and collaborate across Product, Merchandising and QA to meet customer needs.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of Product, Buying & Sales experience in Menswear, across Casualwear and Formalwear.
  • Experience with UK and overseas customers is advantageous.
  • Solid understanding of budgeting, targets and margins.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
  • Strong negotiation, communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all customer accounts, maintain existing sales and seek new opportunities to hit budgeted sales/margins.
  • Identify incremental and seasonal business opportunities within the UK and overseas.
  • Forecast and budget yearly figures with regular updates, ensuring targets and margins are met.
  • Monitor customer sales patterns to service requirements effectively.
  • Coordinate with Product and Merchandise to collate, place, and deliver orders as required by customers.
  • Support accounts with marketing materials and seasonal photography.
  • Collaborate with Product, Merchandising and QA to ensure garment quality and timely delivery.
  • Negotiate prices, payment terms and deliveries to meet sales and budget goals.
  • Maintain partnerships with suppliers and review supply base to meet changing needs.
  • Ensure all departments are aware of customer/supplier procedures and update seasonally.
  • Prepare showrooms with Product and Design support for key meetings.
  • Conduct regular store visits to review product offering and brand visibility.

Key Account Manager
Leeds, LS15 (3 days in office, 2 days from home)

37.5 hours per week

Purpose of the role:
  • To develop & increase Sales for the Off Price business. Targeting customers within the UK and overseas.
  • Ensuring that all budget targets are achieved / exceeded.
  • Identifying new product opportunities within the market – working with Product & Design team within tight time restraints.
  • Controlling / quantifying and initiating stock requirements to maximise sales opportunities
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all customer accounts effectively, maintaining sales for existing accounts and seeking new opportunities to achieve / exceed targeted budgeted sales / margins.
  • Identifying incremental & seasonal business opportunities within the UK and overseas.
  • Forecast and generate yearly budgets with weekly / monthly / quarterly updates and ensuring sales targets & margins are met.
  • Monitor customer sales performance and sales patterns to service their requirements effectively.
  • Working closely with the Product and Merchandise team to ensure orders are collated, placed, and delivered as customer requirements.
  • Supporting accounts with marketing material / seasonal photography.
  • Working alongside the Product, Merchandising and QA team to ensure garment quality and delivery are as per the customers needs.
  • Negotiating with customers on prices, payment terms and deliveries to ensure that sales and margins are achieved with budgets.
  • Establish and maintain working partnerships alongside Product team with the existing supplier base – constantly appraising and updating supply base for changing business & customer requirements.
  • Ensuring all departments within BSI team are aware of customer and supplier procedures covering - IT / Importing & Exporting Logistics / Finance / QA / Warehousing departments, to be reviewed and updated seasonally.
  • Preparation of showroom with support of the Product and Design team for all key customer meetings.
  • Regular customer store visits to review product offering and brand visibility.
Key Skills & Experience:
  • 5 years of Product, Buying & Sales experience within the Menswear Sector across both Casualwear & Formalwear.
  • Fabric experience would be an advantage.
  • Thorough understanding of Men’s Casualwear & Formalwear.
  • Knowledge of product development & production process from design concept to delivered goods.
  • An understanding of shipping terms, export & import process along with direct working with overseas suppliers.
  • Exposure to sales & customer relationships.
  • Understanding of budgeting process, setting targets.
  • Broad knowledge & understanding of the clothing industry and trading environments.
  • Ability to work under pressure / timeline.
  • Self-motivated and motivating.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • To be numerate and proficient in the relevant IT programmes.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Efficient Negotiation skills.Build strong and lasting relationships through supply chain & customer base.
  • Confident communicator & presenter.
