Job summary

Ben Sherman Head Office in Leeds is seeking a Product Development Assistant to provide essential admin support to the Product Team. The role is based at LS15 with 37.5 hours per week in the office.

You will assist with seasonal launches, sample management, CAD documents, and supplier communications, while maintaining strong organisation and proactive problem solving to help deliver creative, on-brand collections.

Qualifications

  • Previous fashion or textiles experience is an advantage.
  • Proactive and uses initiative.
  • Strong accuracy skills.
  • Ability to produce and edit CAD documents (Illustrator and InDesign preferred).
  • Ability to work on own initiative and be a team player.

Responsibilities

  • Book in post and process outgoing post with full records.
  • Assist with seasonal launches, preparing samples and lookbooks.
  • Help with seasonal tech packs for costing and production.
  • Set up branding packs, packaging guides and care label templates.
  • Manage daily admin for critical paths and chase suppliers.
  • Load products on inhouse system for POs and create monthly reports.
  • Attend fit sessions and assist with sample sales when required.
  • Provide admin support to director and department as needed.

Product Development Assistant

Leeds - LS15 (5 days in office)

37.5 hours per week

Purpose of the role:

As a Product Development Assistant, you will play a vital role within our Product Team. You will provide essential admin support to your department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Book in all departments post and process outgoing post. Ensuring full records are kept
  • Assist with seasonal range launches, preparing samples, looks books, presentation boards and swatching
  • Assist with seasonal tech packs for cross costing and production
  • Assist with setting up the branding packs, packaging guides and care label templates and checking artwork from suppliers
  • Manage the daily admin for the casualwear critical paths. Logging approvals, chasing suppliers, and contributing to weekly critical path meetings under the support and guidance of manager/s
  • Loading products on our inhouse system ready for POs
  • Completing and documenting monthly and seasonal store reports
  • Attending fit sessions where required
  • Sample management
  • Assist with project work when required
  • Assist with the sample sales when required
  • Admin support to the director and department when required
Knowledge & Skills Required:
  • Previous fashion or textiles experience or work placement an advantage
  • Proactive and uses initiative
  • Strong accuracy skills
  • Ability to produce and edit CAD documents – Ideally to have experience of Illustrator and InDesign
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Creative presentation skills
  • Strong communication skills over the phone, in writing and face-to-face
  • Very strong house-keeping and organisational skills
  • Time Management skills - Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Self-motivated
  • Team player - ability to manage working relationships at all levels and be hands on supporting the department to achieve strategies and budgets
  • Understanding of the clothing industry & trading environments. Broad knowledge of either retail or wholesale environments
  • Keen follower of the menswear market & trends
