Job summary

Oliver Bernard in London is seeking JVM Engineers to join their enterprise engineering teams. You will design, develop, and maintain robust applications using Java, Kotlin, and Scala, with a focus on clean code and modern development practices.

This hybrid role requires 3 days in the London office. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to deliver production-grade systems, participate in code reviews, tests, and CI/CD improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience developing on the JVM in a commercial setting.
• Proficiency with Java, Kotlin and/or Scala.
• Experience with CI/CD and automated testing practices.
• Knowledge of TDD and modern software engineering practices.
• Understanding of OO and/or FP programming principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-quality applications using Java, Kotlin, and/or Scala.
• Design scalable, reliable, and maintainable software solutions.
• Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) and engineering best practices.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver business-critical technology.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to the evolution of engineering standards and practices.
