Job summary

Fintelligent in Coatbridge is seeking a Junior Underwriter to develop credit assessment skills within a growing bridging finance specialist. You’ll support case assessments, review borrower information, and work closely with seasoned underwriters on residential, commercial and buy-to-let deals.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in financial services, property finance, loan processing, case management or underwriting support.
• Experience reviewing financial information, loan documentation or supporting lending applications.
• Exposure to bridging finance, buy-to-let, commercial mortgages or other property-backed lending would be beneficial, although previous underwriting experience is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support the assessment of bridging finance applications, reviewing borrower information, property security, LTV calculations and proposed exit strategies.
• Review valuations, credit searches and supporting documentation, identifying potential lending risks and assisting with credit recommendations.
• Manage allocated cases from initial assessment through to completion, liaising with brokers, solicitors, valuers and internal teams.
• Develop your underwriting knowledge across first and second charge lending while maintaining accurate credit records and supporting efficient lending decisions.
