Job summary

Vanquis Bank is seeking a Test Engineer to turn complex change into clear evidence that journeys are ready to go live. You will perform exploratory and integration testing, plus automation, across Salesforce, MuleSoft and data flows, partnering with Product, Engineering and Operations.

You will help embed Copado automation, improve regression coverage and promote reusable testing patterns in a regulated banking environment, contributing to faster, safer delivery.

As a Test Engineer, you’ll turn complex change into clear evidence that customer and colleague journeys are ready to go live. You’ll combine hands‑on exploratory and integration testing with purposeful automation, helping teams identify risk earlier, reduce manual effort and deliver with a more predictable cadence.

How you’ll make an impact:

• Shape risk-based testing from refinement onwards, turning requirements and designs into clear, traceable coverage. Quality risks surface earlier, teams make informed decisions and change moves forward with greater confidence.
• Test customer and colleague journeys across Salesforce, MuleSoft integrations and enterprise data flows. Connected services work as intended from end to end, not just within individual systems.
• Build and maintain reusable Copado Robotic Testing assets for high‑value regression scenarios. Teams reduce repeat manual effort, increase dependable coverage and support faster delivery at scale.
• Investigate defects and automation failures using evidence from APIs, messages, databases, logs and platform diagnostics. Issues are isolated quickly, conversations focus on facts and the right fixes can be prioritised.
• Bring testing insight into Agile planning, refinement and Three Amigos conversations. Acceptance criteria are clearer, solutions are more testable and avoidable rework is reduced.
• Provide concise evidence on coverage, progress, defects and residual risk. Delivery leaders and stakeholders can make transparent, risk‑aware release decisions.
• Strengthen quality standards through peer review, reusable patterns and pragmatic improvement ideas. Quality Engineering becomes more consistent, sustainable and effective across value streams.
• Support deployment validation and critical releases, including agreed out‑of‑hours cover where required. Customers, colleagues and business services remain protected as change reaches production.

The role exists now to help embed Copado‑enabled test automation, improve regression coverage and establish stable, repeatable quality practices for the next phase of delivery. You’ll work closely with the Test Lead, Test Manager, Product Owners, Developers, Business Analysts, Data Engineers, Operations, business testers and Environment and Release colleagues. Your evidence will help teams and leaders understand readiness, resolve risk and make well‑informed release decisions.

Technology stack:

• Salesforce: Sales Cloud, Service Cloud or Financial Services Cloud; Flow, Lightning, security, data models, reports and APIs
• Integration & APIs: MuleSoft 4, RAML or OpenAPI, DataWeave, REST, SOAP, events and asynchronous messaging
• Test automation: Copado Robotic Testing, reusable keywords, data‑driven tests, resilient locators and automated evidence
• Data assurance: SQL, source‑to‑target validation, reconciliation, profiling, migration and data‑quality testing
• Engineering tooling: Git, Azure DevOps or Copado pipelines, CI/CD quality gates, logs and platform monitoring

Essential experience

• Hands‑on testing experience across integrated enterprise applications, covering planning, estimation, execution, defect management and reporting.
• Practical Salesforce testing experience across configuration, customisation, security, data, APIs and integrations.
• Experience testing APIs and integrated services, with the ability to validate contracts, payloads, error handling and end‑to‑end behaviour.
• Good SQL and data‑testing capability, including reconciliation, source‑to‑target validation, profiling and data‑quality checks.
• Experience creating or maintaining automated regression tests and running them through Git‑based CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to investigate failures across APIs, messages, databases and logs, then communicate evidence and next steps clearly.
• Understanding of risk‑based testing, shift‑left practices, traceability and controlled test environments.
• A collaborative, inclusive approach with confidence working across technical and non‑technical teams.
• Curiosity, attention to detail and calm judgement when priorities compete or delivery pressure increases.
• Awareness of secure data handling and the governance expected in regulated or controlled environments.

Useful, but not essential

• Hands‑on experience with Copado Robotic Testing or a comparable automation platform.
• Practical MuleSoft, MUnit or Anypoint Platform experience.
• ISTQB Foundation, Salesforce, MuleSoft or Copado certification.
• Experience in financial services, fintech, consumer lending, cards or retail banking technology.
• Experience with service virtualisation, continuous testing, data migration or regulatory change.
