Job Description

The Junior Sous / Sous Chef will work alongside the line chefs to ensure every dish is prepared to our high standards. The role is a leadership role but still requires you to be hands-on, perfect for someone who still loves cooking but wants to develop their leadership skills.

With such a large kitchen team, you can focus on each aspect of the role: when on your section, focus on food quality and training; when on Pass, lead the team through great service.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring correct prep levels by our dedicated prep team.
  • Managing deliveries and stock with the Goods Receiver.
  • Performing daily due diligence.
  • Supporting junior staff wellbeing.
  • Ensuring cleaning rotas are completed.
  • Maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations and hygiene standards.
  • Training and mentoring kitchen staff for consistency and excellence.
  • Assisting with performance management of kitchen personnel.
  • Supporting the Head Chef and Senior Sous Chef in fostering a positive work environment.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Junior Sous or Sous Chef in a busy kitchen environment.
  • Strong culinary skills with a passion for quality and creativity.
  • Leadership abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with a large kitchen team.
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment, food safety, and culinary techniques.
  • Understanding of GP and stock control.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple checks simultaneously.
